4H Underwater Robotics Club Competes at Lehi Aquatics Center

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

Students from the Afterschool 4-H Underwater Robotics club recently competed in the 3rd Annual Under Water Robotics Competition at the Lehi Aquatics Center.  Our club has been working since October on their robots, and did really well at the competition.  Students in this club had to be recommended by their teacher, and had to commit to their team and a lot of work.  We are so proud of not only how well they did at the competition, but also how they acted as they represented our school.

St. Patrick's Day Fun!

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

Leprechaun's found their way into Larsen Elementary this week. The 1st graders made some Leprechaun traps to catch the sneaky guys but they still got away.  They also left a big mess in their classrooms but did leave a pot of gold hidden for the students to find.  There were Leprechauns, rainbows, and gold pieces decorating our hallways all week from each class.   Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

Larsen 4th Graders were lucky to have Dan Guthrie from KSL come and teach them about the weather and all that goes into forecasting.  The KSL Junior Weathers Specialist Program visits schools around the state teaching students about all the different kinds of weather that happen throughout Utah.  It was interesting to learn how they can tell what the weather will be and how they deliver it to television, radio and internet.  Thank you Dan Guthrie for helping us learn more about the weather!
