5th and 6th Grade Orchestra Assembly

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

5th and 6th grade orchestra students from Larsen Elementary and Park Elementary gave a beautiful performance today.  They played solo and group numbers performed along with helping the student body understand what instruments are used in an orchestra. These 5th and 6th grade students meet before school a couple times a week and are taught by Mrs. Kimberlie Derfler.  It is a great program to get kids excited about orchestra when they enter junior high.  Thank you Mrs. Derfler for all your hard work.

Larsen 5th graders held their D.A.R.E. graduation this last week.  D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education.  We would like to thank Officer Dewitt and his hard work teaching our students the harmful effects of drugs and how to resist them.  We are so proud of our 5th graders and their pledge to stay drug free!

November Reading Reward Assembly

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

November was a great reading month for Larsen students.  Our 2nd grade teachers were in charge of the reading reward assembly and did a fantastic job!  The students played a trivia game from books that they had read in their classes.  Natalie Jewkes was the grand prize winner for the Road To Success Reading and has her choice of either a bike, scooter or iPad.  Great job everyone and keep up the awesome reading!
