This is just a reminder that Wednesday, February 24 is a half day of school. Students will be let out at 12:00 PM. Afternoon Kindergarten will be coming in the morning also and they will all be excused at the same time. If you have any questions call the school. Thanks!
This is just a reminder about this weeks "Penny Wars". The object is to get the most points per grade level. You get a point for every penny put in the grade level jar. If they bring a nickel, dime or quarter they get to put that in another grades jar and it subtracts from their points (-5,-10, -25). If they bring bills then those count as points for their class also.
THe money will go towards supplies for the school. If you have any questions you can email the following PTA members:
Larsen's Fourth Grade classes had an exciting day devoted to the Pioneers! We made butter and read stories about pioneer children, learned how to do pioneer weaving, and played different pioneer games! We even got to eat some delicious corn bread. We ended the day performing the Virginia Reel and the Texas Star for our parents... Little did they know they would get to dance with us, too!
Larsen 5th and 6th grade students participated in their annual science fair. We even had a couple student in the younger grades participate. It was great to see all the different experiments that students had conducted. The students that won and will move on to district are as follows: Madalyn Patchett, Addison Stubbs, Austin Smalley, Shanae Orton, Emily Acuna-Frastro, Kaden Simmons, Christopher Smith, Xander Tolman, Josh Slaugh, Sarah Trevino, Rissa Adams, Cadince Nielson, Malorie Diede, Sadie Werner, Kaylee Knotts, and Nick Holt. Great job to all the participants!
The Maple Mountain Girls Basketball team came and visited the students here at Larsen Elementary. One of the players is Principal Andersen's daughter. The team read a book with several classes and also answered questions from students about basketball. It was exciting to have them come visit our awesome school. Thanks MMHS!
Larsen Elementary has some awesome readers! Today was the reading reward assembly for the month of January. The assembly was filled with a lot of laughs and challenging Minute to Win It games. Some of the games were Mad Dog, Stack Attack, Junk in the Trunk, M&M Race, Kleenex Race, Nose Dive and There She Blows. Thank you 4th grade teachers for planning such a fabulous assembly. Keep up the good work students!!
