4th Grade Visits Camp Floyd

Submitted by natalee.hansen on

Recently 4th grade students from Larsen Elementary joined the Union troops and enjoyed a fun filled day out at Camp Floyd.  On our field trip to Camp Floyd the fourth graders made adobe bricks and candles, went to pioneer school, drilled with the army, visited a stage coach inn and toured a museum. We played pony express games and learned about the events that led up to the US Army marching to Utah.  Among other things we also got a taste of what school life was like in the 1860s.  It was a great experience to travel back in time and visit Camp Floyd.  Way To Go Leopards!!
