Hobbies: camping, gardening, and watching sporting events
Favorite Book: The War that Saved My Life by Kimberly Bradley
Favorite Food: Cafe Rio Salads
Favorite Quote: "There is no growth in the comfort zone, and there is no comfort in the growth zone."
Mrs. Olsen loves Larsen's positive energy. We are so excited to have have her teaching at our awesome school!
It's almost that time for our spooky Halloween parade. It will be October 31st at 1:00 PM. Parents can stand in the front of the school on the grassy area and line around the drop off zones to watch. Please keep the sidewalks clear so that students can walk around on them. We are so excited to see all the witches, super heros, ghosts and all the other characters that day. Please remember no masks or weapons with their costumes.
Just a last reminder to sign up for SEP's for tomorrow October 9th. We would love every parent to come and meet with their students teachers. There are still many slots available.
On the right hand side of our website is a quick link for grades. Click on your students grade level and scroll down until you find their teacher. You can always call the office if you have any questions. We hope to see you all there!
The fourth graders were invited on a field trip to the Jordanelle Dam this week! We learned about how important the dam is to our county, how the engineers at the dam control the water temperature, the amount of water allowed down the mountain, and drought prevention. We went inside the dam and saw the giant cylinders that control the water. The students loved throwing balls down the 300 ft drop from the top of the dam to the bottom, and riding the elevator! Thank you Central Utah Water Conservancy District!
Stand 4 Kind members came to Larsen and gave an amazing assembly full BMX bike tricks, jumps, and other stunts. Their assemblies are designed to raise anti-bullying awareness, increase prevention, and encourage students to speak up when they know of situations that pose a danger to themselves or others. It was so much fun and the students loved when they jumped over some of our teachers. We know that Larsen students will be kind to others and treat everyone with respect.
Mrs. Wilson is our spotlight this week. She teaches 4th grade here at Larsen and is a ray of sunshine. Here are some other facts about her:
Favorite Subject in school: Reading
Hobbies: making wreaths and watching Netflix
Favorite Book: Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit
Favorite Food: Chicken fingers and fries
Favorite Drink: Diet Coke

Her favorite thing about Larsen is: "The kids amaze me everyday with how they handle hard things. Most of the time, they are incredibly brave and loving, despite their bad days and hard situations. I love working in a place where I'm surrounded by generous, warm, talented people."
Thanksgiving Point Outreach visited Larsen Third grade. They taught about the scientific method and helped each class make a mini terrarium. Then as part of the North American Research Project the students planted tulips they will monitor and record in the Spring.
It's that time of year already for SEP conferences on October 9th. Sign ups are now available. If you look on the right side of the website you will see a quick link for grade levels. Choose your students grade level and scroll down until you find your child's teacher. Then select a time slot that works with your schedule. You will notice that appointments are booked back to back. Arriving a few minutes before your scheduled time will allow for your teacher's schedule to run more smoothly.
Thanks and we look forward to meeting with you!
