Larsen Elementary was happy to have "The NED Show" visit our school.  This show teaches students about being champions at school and in life.  NED is an acronym for Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best.  As they taught these values they showed some amazing yo-yo tricks.  They even made the Eiffel Tower with the yo-yo string! We had lot's of laughs and fun while learning some important life lessons.

Keep up the good work and let’s keep READING!!!  WAY TO GO LEOPARDS!!!

Wednesday May 7, 2014 we had the privilege of hearing our own Larsen Sixth Grade Orchestra perform in an assembly for our entire student body.  Their teacher is Kim Derfler.  They performed favorites such as "Ode to Joy" and "Cannon in D."   Gianna Paice played "Part of Your World," from "The Little Mermaid" on her violin.  The orchestra has greatly improved since we last saw them at Christmas time. WAY TO GO LEOPARDS!!

Kindergarteners Do A Little " Egg Dropping"

Submitted by natalee.hansen on Fri, 05/09/2014 - 14:19

Our Larsen Elementary Kindergarteners helped Easter "Drop" in by holding their annual Easter egg hunt and egg drop. They started by finding hidden eggs around the playground and then we were excited to watch the egg drop contest begin!! At home, each student has to put their egg in something to try and make his/her egg unbreakable when it drops from Larsens roof. The students are very creative, wrapping their eggs in sponges, bubble wrap, toilet papaer, shoes, boxes and many more crazy and fun things.  Mr. V and Mr. Andersen helped out by dropping the packages from the roof. WAY TO GO LEOPARDS!!

RAD or otherwise known as the Rees African Drummers, performed for our students here at Larsen Elementary on Thursday, April 17, 2014.  This "RAD" group is made up entirely of students from third to sixth grade students at Rees Elementary here in Spanish Fork.  Mr. Ballard, their advisor, is a teacher at Reese Elementary and the students meet two days a week at school to practice.  Our students enjoyed listening and learning about the different and interesting instruments and it was fun to hear them and see their bright African clothes.  We want to give them a big thank you for taking the time to come and perform at our school!  WAY TO GO LEOPARDS!!

Larsen Choir Brings "Hope Of America" To Our School!!

Submitted by natalee.hansen on Mon, 04/28/2014 - 14:21

Wednesday April 16, 2014 our wonderfully awesome 5th and 6th grade choir presented their "Hope Of America" Program to our students in a very patriotic assembly.  Our Larsen choir has been practicing long and hard for this program since the beginning of the year. The Hope Of America program which was held on Thursday April 17th in the Marriott Center, is the official kickoff to the July 4th Freedom Festival in Provo.

The students sang fourteen songs which teach students about the Constitution, the Founding Fathers, how the government works, an appreciation for the military and other American heroes as well as promotes a greater love for our country.  This year nearly 8000 elementary school children in the state of Utah were invited to participate in this free program, making it the biggest patriotic celebration of its kind in the country.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU,  THANK YOU to Mrs. Johnson for her love and dedication to our school choir and the students. We are so proud of our Larsen choir and the awesome accomplishment this was for them. WAY TO GO LEOPARDS!!!
