Kindergarten Nursery Rhyme Day

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

Mrs. Eckhardt's kindergarten classes celebrated Nursery Rhyme day.  Each child dressed up like a character from a nursery rhyme, and shared their rhyme with the class.  They also made retelling puppets for several nursery rhymes, and tasted curds and whey.  Way to go Kindergarteners!

Mrs. Eckhardt's kindergarten classes showed their painting skills at a class mini museum during parent teacher conferences.  Each student created three paintings for the museum.  One painting inspired by the book "Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late", one inspired by the big book "Mrs. Wish Washy", and one painting inspired by learning about Artist Georgia O'Keefe.A big things to Mr. Gillespie at MMHS for loaning us his portable art gallery to display our paintings!Image removed.

Submitted by garrett.andersen on

4-H Registration begins this Thursday morning (January 15, 2015) at 7:00 am.  Please use the following link to get a "ticket" for the event.  You don’t need to even print the tickets.  The cost for this session is $10.00, with a special buy one, get one half off ($5.00 for the second class) which needs to be paid in the office.  The program to register is different than we have used before, but we think you will like the change. You DO have to sign up for eventbrite before you can get "tickets" but it only requires an email and a password.

3rd Grade Chalk Art

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

Our 3rd graders were lucky to have Claudia Jex come into their classes and show them how to make some snowman chalk art.  Mrs. Jex is the Visual Art Specialist for the district.  Larsen Elementary was given some grant money from the Beverly Taylor Sorensen Arts Learning Program to purchase some special art materials for each classroom. Thanks Mrs. Jex for helping us learn more about art!
