MMHS Students Visit 5th Grade

Submitted by teresa.beebe on
Fifth Grade had the privilege of meeting with wonderful role models from Maple Mountain High School. They came to answer the students' questions about how drug use can impact a person's life in a very negative way. They passed on advice about choosing the best friends they can right now because of the impact it will have on each student in junior high and high school. The students laughed with them and had a twinkle in their eyes, looking forward to when they can be in high school learning new things that they can hardly imagine. It was a great last meeting

Just a reminder for 5th grade parents that D.A.R.E graduation is being held Friday, Dec. 2 at 1:30.  It will be held in the cafeteria.  Please come and hear about all the good choices students are making to stay away from harmful substances that will hurt their bodies.  We are so proud of our students for making the choice to stay drug free!

It has been a tradition for many years that our 5th grade students create these beautiful stained glass Christmas windows.  It is one of our favorite parts of the holiday season.  Drive past our school and look at all the beautiful pictures hanging in the windows.

December Reading Reward Assembly

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

Laurie Harrop-Purser, a faculty member in the theater department at UVU, came to Larsen Elementary's reading assembly to inspire the students to read.  She retold the story "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" in a very fun, theatrical way. The students loved it. Thank you Ms. Harrop-Purser for helping us see how fun reading a book can be!
