6th Grade Creates Greek Pottery

Submitted by teresa.beebe on
Around 700 BC, black figure pottery was popular for the Greeks. They used slip, which is a mixture of water and clay, to paint simple shapes onto the pot. The students designed black figure pots using an interactive website to replicate the process of making black figure pottery. Then, the students recreated their design with construction paper and special crayons as an exhibit in the hallway. The students enjoyed being able to see their creativity come to life. Image removed.

December Reading Reward Assembly

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

Larsen students enjoyed an interactive reading reward for the month of December.  3rd grade teachers put a Christmas trivia game together using multiple choice questions on a program called "Kahoot".  The participants would have to be the first to answer electronically on the chromebook to receive their points. The teams were matched students against teachers.  Teachers came out victorious but the students sure gave it their best shot.  Keep up the great reading students during the holiday break!

Students were scared out of their seats when he set his beaver trap and it SNAPPED shut!  He let all the 4th graders see his different hides and even touch them.  He also left a copy of his latest book, be sure to check it out at the library.
