Mountain Man Scott Sorenson Visits Larsen 4th Grade!

Submitted by natalee.hansen on

Fourth Graders were excited to have a real-life mountain man, Scott Sorenson visit us at Larsen recently.  He kept us spell-bound as he told us tall tales as well as true stories about the adventures of real mountain men. We also loved the animal calls he did for us and were excited to learn that we can call a chipmunk by wetting our hand and kissing it.  Believe me, we all had to try it.  It was very exciting to see all of the furs of the many different animals he brought to show us.   WAY TO GO LEOPARDS!!

Larsen Elementary Remembers Veterans Day!

Submitted by natalee.hansen on

Larsen Elementary recently had some very special visitors come to our school to help us honor Veteran's Day. We are so proud of all of our veterans and enjoyed having them come and talk to us this year. We watched a video presentation, and each one of the Veterans and our own Mr. Scoubes, introduced themselves and talked to the students and told us a little about where they have served.  It was a very touching and moving assembly reminding us all of what these wonderful Veterans have sacrificed and done for us and our Country so that we can be free.

Larsen Students Get "Smartz"!!

Submitted by natalee.hansen on

Larsen students recently got a little bit "smarter" than before.  Last week students had a fun assembly where they were instructed by "Netsmartz" spokeperson Barbara Decker on computer and internet safety.   Larsen students got to watch a fun video and learned about using the internet and what they are supposed to do or not to do about giving out information over the internet, cyber bullying, and websites not intended for our students. Thank you to NetSmartz for coming out and better educating our great students.  Way To Go Leopards!

Submitted by natalee.hansen on

Larsen students had a fun filled day for Halloween. Students, teachers, staff and parents had a blast with our annual costume parade while viewing all of the creative costumes.  We had many visitors throughout the school today. Nurses, Dr.'s, witches, pirates, zombies, frankenstein and superheroes filled the halls and we even had celebrities from Duck Dynasty visit us as well. We ended our fun filled day with class parties and lots of treats and goodies. A big thank you to all of the class helpers who made our Halloween day possible.  WAY TO GO LEOPARDS!!

Larsen Leopards Stand Tall Against Drugs For Red Ribbon Week!

Submitted by natalee.hansen on

Red Ribbon Week started off with "Wear Red Monday". The color red represents courage and our Larsen Leopards all have the courage to say "NO" to drugs! Tuesday was "Crazy Sock Day", and students wore crazy and funny socks to encourage all of our friends to not be bullies and stay away from drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Wednesday the students dressed up like their favorite hero and also made pledge banners which all of the students sighned lined our school halls!  Thursday was  "Hat Day"!
