Mr Peterson Shares a Break Out Math Activity

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

Mrs. Taylor's first grade class participated in a "break out" activity with Mr. Peterson.   It was a math review and the students had to work together to solve problems.  The math problem answers then were clues for the code to the locks.  They had 5 different locks to open.  The students loved doing this activity and sure are smart first graders.  Thank you Mr. Peterson for this fun activity!

Larsen Elementary received a $500 check from Macey's for the School Cents program.  What is the School Cents program ?  This is how Macey's  describes it:

"School Cents is our way of giving back and supporting our communities' education system. The School Cents program is run through Macey's Perks® program allowing us to electronically track the rewards each school earns. Your school will earn one percent* of every purchase made by its supporters."

Thank you Macey's for supporting Larsen students and helping us in our academic goals!

6th Grade vs Faculty Kickball Game

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

Today was the annual 6th grade vs Faculty kickball game.  There has been a lot of talk around the school on who was going to be victorius between the two teams.   We are pretty sure the faculty won but 6th grade is protesting the actual score.  The PTA saved everyone at the end of the game by bringing Otter Pops to cool off afterwards.  It was so fun and a great way to bring spirit to our school.  Great job everyone!

5th Grade State Fair and Wax Museum

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

Larsen 5th graders held their annual State Fair and wax museum on Friday.  Students were given a state to research and make a diorama about interesting facts about it.  Then students chose a famous person from that state to dress up as and tell about them to visitors.  They did a great job and everyone learned some awesome facts about the United States!

4th Grade Pioneer Day

Our 4th grade has been studying all about the pioneers and on Friday they celebrated all that they had learned.  The students dressed like pioneers, played pioneer games, made crafts with yarn and a bunch more!  The classes ended the day with square dancing. Great job 4th grade!
