Jessica Hall, skills technician at Larsen Elementary said, “I am so excited and grateful to receive a grant to help get our Wellness Room up and running. The goal is to help the students be able to have a spot to come to when they are feeling stressed, angry, or sad. When they come into the Wellness Room, we are giving them the opportunity to get their emotions under control and be able to have a successful day in their classrooms. The Wellness Room will have a sensory area, a quiet area, a motion area, and an artistic area where the students will be able to sit and read a book, play hopscotch, do yoga, dig their hands into kinetic sand, or draw a picture along with multiple other activities that will be offered to them. I am excited to watch the progress of the students as they learn to recognize and handle their big emotions.”
