Larsen 4th graders celebrated Pioneer Day on Friday.  Students dressed like pioneers, played pioneer games, made pioneer crafts, made butter and cornbread, and ended the day with a program for the parents.  They performed pioneer dances and sang songs that they have been learning.  They even invited their parents to come and dance with them at the end.  It was such a fun day!

Larsen 2nd graders were lucky to have author Lezlie Evans come and talk to them about reading, being an author and her books.  She said "When a child opens a book he or she opens the portals to wonderous places, exciting adventures, and exciting experiences.  When you read with a child, you create strong bonds and lasting memories, and when you teach children to read it empowers them. So go ahead,  read with a child today!"  Thank you for visiting Lezlie Evans!
