Larsen Holds Health and Safety Week.

The last week of September Larsen Elementary held a great health and safety week. On walk to school day, the Maple Mountain High School Cross Country team came and helped encourage kids to use the cross walks and handed out granola bar snacks. During the week, the kids took part in our challenge to walk 5,000 laps as a school. Kids earned tickets for
walking, running, and jump roping laps during recesses. Our inital goal was 5,000 laps, but by the end of the challenge, we had 7,367 laps!! Our top ticket earners, Tiffany Nelson and Abigail Payne, both chose a soccer ball as their take-home prize. Our top classes, Mrs. Beckstead's, and Mrs. Taylor's class got first pick of the other prizes. Then, we put all the tickets together and drew names. Those kids whose names were picked got to choose a prize for their class. They choose between several types of sports equipment: bouncy balls, jump ropes, footballs, hoola hoops, basketballs, etc. It was a great week and a good reminder to be safe when coming to school and to make healthy choices. Way to go Leopards!!
