Our 5th grade classes had a contest to see who could pass off math facts first. Ms. Camps class won the competition. She was the lucky one that got to have a pie thrown in her face because of how awesome her class did. Mrs. Thomas got to help with it too. Thank you Ms. Camps for being a great sport and great job 5th graders for passing off your math facts!
Larsen Elementary received a wonderful gift from the family of Karen Anderson who passed away in 2009. Mrs. Anderson was a beloved 1st grade teacher here for many years and we are honored that her children donated a nursery rhyme lamp to our library in her name.
Karen loved reading and children. She helped many students ages 5-6 learn how to read. Later, she taught reading to other teachers as a Literacy Specialist for Nebo School District. We are grateful for this donation and our students will have great memories of reading by it.

Students were excited with all the fun activities they participated in and learned a lot about energy. Thank you DIscovery Gateway for coming and teaching our kindergarteners.
Mrs. Beckstead received the PEAK Award and the district board meeting last night. She was nominated by our principal, Mrs. Thomas. PEAK is an acronym for Positive Energy and Kindness. Mrs. Beckstead is every bit of that. Here is what Mrs. Thomas said about her:
"“Karalee is a very fun and positive person to be around. She brings so much laughter and fun to each day. Karalee is also an extremely hard worker and a dedicated employee. She spends way more time at school than is expected, just to make sure that other employees are ready and well prepared in their respective jobs. She is very knowledgeable in helping new teachers prepare and feel successful as they begin their first few years of teaching. She brings out the best in others with her encouraging words and her positive outlook. Karalee also steps in to complete many tasks that have little to do with her specific job assignment--and does so happily. Karalee is a great asset to Larsen, and we are lucky to have her!”
