Kindergarteners Celebrate A Quilt Day

Submitted by natalee.hansen on

The kindergarteners at Larsen Elementary celebrated a special “Quilt Day” at school by bringing their quilts, wearing their jammies, and drinking hot chocolate.
Students got to choose if they wanted their hot chocolate plain, with whipped cream, or with marshmallows. Students in Mrs. Eckhardt’s classes, and in Mrs. Hyer’s class rounded out the day by playing a quilt game while sitting on their quilts.

5th Grade Visits Olympic Park

Submitted by natalee.hansen on

The fifth grade went to the Olympic Park in Park City. While there the students participated in five rotations that taught about the history of Park City and skiing, the differences between Park City in 1938 and now, and explored the museum. After the museum we got to go up the mountain and see the top of the ski jump as well as the bobsled run. We were lucky because the day we went was the first day of bobsled practice and we got to see two bobsled teams zooming by at 80 miles per hour! The two teams we saw on their practice run were from the Netherlands and Belgium.

Snow people come to Larsen Elementary

Submitted by natalee.hansen on

Children at Larsen Elementary were more than just a little excited for the first snowfall of the year. Everyone was so happy and excited for the new winter wonderland so they could play in the snow that they decided to build snowmen during lunch recess. By the time the bell rang and lunch was over, we had 4-5 snowpeople join the playground that day.
