5th Grade Visits Olympic Park

Submitted by natalee.hansen on

The fifth grade went to the Olympic Park in Park City. While there the students participated in five rotations that taught about the history of Park City and skiing, the differences between Park City in 1938 and now, and explored the museum. After the museum we got to go up the mountain and see the top of the ski jump as well as the bobsled run. We were lucky because the day we went was the first day of bobsled practice and we got to see two bobsled teams zooming by at 80 miles per hour! The two teams we saw on their practice run were from the Netherlands and Belgium.

Snow people come to Larsen Elementary

Submitted by natalee.hansen on

Children at Larsen Elementary were more than just a little excited for the first snowfall of the year. Everyone was so happy and excited for the new winter wonderland so they could play in the snow that they decided to build snowmen during lunch recess. By the time the bell rang and lunch was over, we had 4-5 snowpeople join the playground that day.

Larsen Kindergarten Heads South!

Submitted by natalee.hansen on

On September 24, 2010, Larsen Elementary Kindergarten traveled down to Rowley’s South Ridge Farms in Santaquin or more widely known as the “Big Red Barn.”  The kids were taken on a hayride out to the big orchards where each one of the students were able to pick and eat a yummy peach and apple.  After picking and eating their fruit they rode out to the great pumpkin patch and picked a pumpkin to take back to their classrooms.  It was a great beginning to the Fall season.  Thank you South Ridge Farms.

Children got to watch a fun video and they learned about using the internet and what are the do's and don'ts on giving out information over the internet.
