November Reading Reward- Pie in the Face

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

The students at Larsen earned another fun reading reward activity for the month of November.  Our fearless leader, Mr. Andersen, was the lucky person to get pies thrown at him while wearing silly costumes that the students picked out.  One student from each class was able to throw a pie at the principal.  It was really fun and Mr. Andersen sure got a lot of whipped cream on him!  Keep up the good reading!! Thank you Mr. Andersen for being a good sport and thank you 1st grade teachers for putting it together!

Our Larsen 5th Graders had their D.A.R.E graduation ceremony recently.  Officer Dewitt runs our D.A.R.E program.  He does such a great job helping the students understand the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and drugs.  Officer Dewitt shared with the students some stories of people who have had a problem with drugs and how they have hurt their bodies and their lives. He let the kids look through his police car, brought the K-9 dogs, wear googles that show them how it is to be impaired and many other activities.

5th Grade Stained Glass Cover Larsen Windows

Submitted by teresa.beebe on

Larsen 5th Graders are helping bring the holiday spirit to our school by covering our windows with beautiful stained glass pictures.  This has been a holiday tradition for them for many years.  The windows are made by tracing a design on black contruction paper, cutting out some of the areas and adding tissue paper to make a colorful Christmas window.  We love the way it makes our school look during December!  Make sure when you drive by Larsen that you look them.  Thank you 5th Grade!
