It was fun to have some of the MMHS football players come and read with classes at Larsen Elmentary. Most of the players that came had even attended our school and visited their old classrooms and teachers. We appreciate them taking time to read with our students! Go Eagles!
Fifth grade gathered around Eileen Quintana as she educated us about the traditions of many indigenous Native American tribes from Utah. She opened with a typical Navajo greeting, told in her native tongue, and impressed the kids with the sounds and the translation of her heritage. The students learned that there are five indigenous tribes in Utah, and that they all speak languages that are very different from one another. She also showed them many of the things that Navajos (and other tribes) use to take care of their young children.
Larsen Elementary celebrated the start of the new school year with a fun assembly. All of the faculty and staff were introduced to students as well what it takes to be a "Leopard Leader". We are excited for this school year and know it will be one of the best! Go Leopards!
Larsen Elementary has had a terrific first week of school! It has been so fun to see all our students shining faces. We wanted to remind all parents about Back to School Night being held on Thursday, September 1 from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Meet in the cafeteria first. This will be just for the parents. The SCC serves as an advisory council to the school administration. The SCC consists of parents, employees and the principal. The council meets monthly for one hour. If you are interested in running in the election, please come to the office during registration on August 2, 2016 and pick up a form.
Larsen 4-H families-Friday, August 12 we will be having "Fair Friday". We will meet from 9-11:30 that day, and will make 4 projects that will be turned in to the Utah County Fair. For more information and to sign up find us at Larsen Elementary registration on August 2
Don't forget that Larsen Elementary registration is going to be held on Tuesday, August 2. You can come in anytime between 8:00 and 4:00. If you are registering a new student you will need to bring birth certificate, immunization records and 2 forms of proof of residency. One of those forms needs to be a mortagage statement/ lease agreement. Feel free to call the school if you have any questions.
