The Champions Challenge reading winners were announced today in an assembly. The lucky winners had met their reading goal for the month and their names were put in a drawing. The grand prize winners were Ayla Gibson and Piper Hoyt. Both girls will receive a pair of boots, wranglers, a cowboy hat and a pair of rodeo tickets. The other winners were Kaiya Reynolds, Jaden Henricksen, Brooke Ridge, Zealand Torgerson and Bridger Robinson. They each receive a pair of tickets to the rodeo. Great job students and keep up the awesome reading!
What a great year we have had at Larsen Elementary and can't believe it is coming to an end! We have had many parents call wondering the end of year program dates for their students. Here is the schedule for each grade level:
Kindergarten: Friday, May 18th at 1:30 PM
1st Grade: Tuesday, May 15th at 1:30 PM
2nd Grade: Thursday, May 1oth at 1:30 PM
3rd Grade: Wednesday, May 16th at 1:30 PM
4th Grade: Tuesday, May 22nd at 1:30 PM
5th Grade: Thursday, May 17th at 1:15 PM
6th Grade: Wednesday, May 23rd at 1:00 PM
This week at Larsen Elementary we are celebrating all the wonderful teachers and staff that work here during our "Teacher Appreciation Week". Some very talented PTA members decorated the doors of each class thanking the teachers for making a difference. We know Larsen has the best teachers and staff and we are grateful for all they do! We also have an awesome PTA that is putting on the celebrations all week.
Here are the following dates to remember for the grade level track meets at Spanish Fork High School:
April 24th- 3rd grade
May 1st- 4th grade
May 8th- 6th grade
May 15th- 5th grade
Remember to have your students wear good running shoes, bring sunscreen, water and lunch if they didn't order a school lunch. Parents are welcome to go watch starting at approximately 9:30 AM. There is an order of events that is followed and not scheduled times.
Mrs. Eckhardt was awarded Teacher of the Year for Larsen Elementary last night at the district board meeting. The following is what was read about her during the meeting:
“Angela creates a classroom environment where her students love to be with many hands-on activities for her students to learn and participate. She is a leader and advocate for students. Angela has provided an enriching 4H program for many years and has taught an Underwater Robotics club that competes. She is an incredible leader and advocate for students and staff.”
